Anyone else hates the summer because of the aftermath on your skin?

I am in my early 50s. My physique doesn't do well in hot weather. I usually feel tired, fat, sweaty, ugly and uncomfortable. I can scrub up pretty well in the autumn when I can wear boots and cover up. I'd say at times I even look good!

But the summer is a nightmare for me. I am short and a bit overweight due to the menopause, so removing layers of clothing makes me feel crappy. I am extremely white, so even in hot days I'll aim to cover as much skin as possible, and hence I usually feel uncomfortable as I am not properly dressed for the weather.

My feel and hands swell up.

Even though I use sun protection and I cover up, my decolletage manages to get sunburnt every single summer, so even though my face looks pretty decent, each year my decolletage manages to age me disproportionally.

And then there's the insect bites. This year they've really feasted on me, to the point that I thought I might have fleas in the house. I have treated pet and house just in case, but I don't even think it's that. It might be mites. I do take really long walks in the woods every day, so it might be something there, I don't know. Despite using sprays, hydrocortisone, etc, my scratching, at times when I'm asleep, has resulted in my legs looking a disgusting mess.

How do I help my skin heal, particularly from all the bites and scratching?

I’m in Australia so it gets really hot here. I like it up to about 30 C but after that - no. Too energy sapping .
