Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar 2023 - products have gone off

I was really pleased to receive the Liberty advent calendar as a gift last December and have been working my way through the products over the past year. There were several similar products e.g. more than one moisturiser, several serums etc so I used one of each from start to finish rather than opening/using several at the same time. I'm a bit disappointed to find that two of the moisturisers seem to have gone off even though they weren't opened until now. The Zelens Emulsion D and the Votary nutrient cream smell rancid or certainly unpleasant. I know these types of product often contain fats and active ingredients that go off after 6/12 months but I'd hoped to use all the items up by Christmas before possibly getting another advent calendar. Now not sure it's worth it. Has anyone else had this problem?

The only issue I had with my Liberty calendar last year was the pipette lid on the miracle oil - it basically melted. I contacted the company direct and they sent me a brand new bottle.

I've just finished my zelens and it's fine, I used the votary back in January.

I'm still yet to open the ren mask, Kate somerville exfoliate, and the 111skin mask as I don't really know when to use them 🙈

I haven't used the night retinol either actually 🙈. As you say A LOT of similar products

Thanks @Yeknom - that happened to my miracle oil too! It was kind of stuck together when it arrived and then it eroded away into a hole. I just chucked it out but probably should have requested a replacement. I've not used the retinol products either as thought they might be too harsh over summer with regular sun exposure. Planning to start using them as we move into Autumn.
On the whole I loved the excitement of opening a new box each day and really like some of the products but am a little disappointed now overall.

Yes! That's exactly what happened! I was super chuffed with the replacement as I really liked the oil and had already used a load of it.

100 per cent yes to the sun and the retinol. I'm on the fence about trying to sell the Kate somerville as I wondered if it'll be too harsh for my skin full stop!

Weird this happened to my miracle oil as well only this week . It just melted I thought it might have been the heat last week. I had almost finished it though so have just decanted it to a empty travel bottle
Just checked my Votary. It smells fine and looks normal but I have moved it from my to use pile to my bedside table use now stash just in case.
I had planned in using it this summer as it is quite a light cream but ended up using something else instead and had forgot about it.
If I get an advent this year I will definitely be looking at the use by dates and using them in order as oppose to which I fancy first now though so thanks for the heads up

Yes, I'd do the same re; organising products by what needs to be used first and would also request a replacement for any damages items.
I've had a sneak peek at this years advent calendar and it's a bit different to last year. It has some non-beauty/make-up products in it (won't give details in case people like a surprise).
