A large but not too large friendly bucket type shoulder bag

I have a proper leather satchel teacher style for work which I adore - it’s heavy but it does everything I require and I don’t need a handbag for work but evening and weekend I do - I have fiddled around with multiple bags but they don’t work - small doesn’t work when the kids want someone to hold the water bottle or I go shopping and just want a bag not too bag and not too small. Large is too heavy. Soft ideally and water proof with one strap so I can sling it onto my shoulder a zip at the top would be great. Multiple compartment nice but it must be squishy to sling in the boot - dump on the floor etc I wear navy, tan, black and pink at work really but out of work jeans, a summer dress etc must be suitable around black moulting dogs suitable for a couple of water bottles, first aid kit (that’s the kind of family we are) chargers, phones, epipens, diary etc budget wise - happy to pay £200 rather pay £20 the only one that comes close was a bag Radley did years ago that I am half tempted to see if it is still available on eBay. I’m short and dumpy. Help style ladies!

How friendly does it need to be?

Able to shove it various things that kids pass you for ‘safe keeping’ eg their phone, a kindle or a rock or dead crab (depending on the child 😂) not large enough to fit a child or Labrador in - maybe a small dog (but I don’t have one of those) 👍

Ah I see. I feel bad now. I thought friendly was a typo and it made me laugh.

I like coach bags but I can’t really recommend a particular one.

I have this and love it,

I have been browsing at M&S and found this: https://www.marksandspencer.com/leather-tote-bag/p/clp22544398?intid=mobileappppdpshare

Glad I made you laugh. For me you can have bags that are a bugger and you wrestle to get anything in.

I quite like this! @Janey26 is it quite roomy and does it have a zip?? How much can you get in it? Is it soft and more hard? If you know what I mean 😂🤦‍♀️😱

I’ve investigated and I really do one with an easy zip that I can whip shut when needed

I have the Holly bag from Fat face, they don’t stock it now but I got mine, new on Vinted and I love it.
It’s very soft leather, squishy, looks good and holds the earth!

I have been looking for a laptop bag and found Fablou and Louenhide which were brands I hadn't heard of but are perfect. I bought a Fablou city shopper from Vinted and it's great. They are wipe clean but still look very smart. You might want a smaller one but they have a range.

Can I suggest longer and less deep really works well fir this type of bag. I have a Hobbs one that it quite literally the best bag ever.
Worst are cavernous deep bags which means scrabbling on the bottom for smaller items.

I’ll take that.

Sorry.

I did mean it about Coach bags though.

I think I also quoted the wrong post…….

I like the wipe clean and as long as it’s not too deep it’s ok. But I really need a zip at the top I think. Or a flap?
