Has anyone else been in recently? I was in today and it was just fabulous - so many nice pieces - and not just the sienna Millar campaign stuff

Ooh, tell us more! I'm a huge M&S fab. Theres always some shockers but they do get a lot right

Lottapianos · 07/09/2023 22:25

Fan, not fab!

Lentilweaver · 07/09/2023 22:26

People will definitely accuse you of running and ad for M and S now. They always do!

I do find their autumn and winter clothes are so much better than summer.

Honeysuckle9 · 07/09/2023 22:52

Genuinely not running an ad but the items I bought included a satin shirt that was just lovely quality, a gorgeous Isabel Marant style boxy check coat, a nice cable knit jumper …
I could have bought lots more but really nice casual basics - the dresses are a bit off though

Saw the Sienna Miller ad today and the last thing I want to see on tv in 30 degree heat is wool coats and thick jumpers.

BiscoffBear · 07/09/2023 23:07

Have they started making decent knickers again? Their selection has been so shocking and of such bad quality for the last couple of years that I’m trying to keep my favourite ones going until they either bring back the decent cotton low rise shorts that I used to love or I can eventually find similar ones for the same prices elsewhere.

Honeysuckle9 · 07/09/2023 23:24

The knickers are still awful I’m afraid

I also love M and S again. I stopped shopping their years ago but have ventured back

knickers still awful though!!!!

WeCanAlwaysJustStayIn · 08/09/2023 05:36

Where do you get knickers???? M&S was my go to, not any longer.

MindPalace · 08/09/2023 06:00

I think their flexi fit knickers are fantastic.

Gardenerboo · 08/09/2023 06:10

@MindPalace me too! The only pants I wear. So comfortable, feel amazing and not bad to look at for basics. Love the flexifit range.

Tweedledeee · 08/09/2023 06:10

Oh no it wasn’t that one it was this one

Hmm, I've been into M&S a couple of times recently and the quality has seemed really poor compared to what it used to be. Sizing is all over the place too.

Justleaveitblankthen · 08/09/2023 06:20

Good thread.
It's a 20 mile round trip to my nearest one, so watching with interest.

Escalateandcreate · 08/09/2023 06:28

Primark for knickers. Last ages and wash really well. An abundance of styles and shapes. They’re good for socks too.

ZolaBudd · 08/09/2023 06:28

People who say, blah blah quality and then buy in Primark instead

wineandsunshine · 08/09/2023 06:31

I love the M&S underwear...I've never bought any clothes.may have a nosy at the weekend!

TodayInahurry · 08/09/2023 06:47

I went food shopping there yesterday, the clothes look much better. Their underwear seems to have improved a lot and their socks

RampantIvy · 08/09/2023 06:50

MindPalace · 08/09/2023 06:00

I think their flexi fit knickers are fantastic.

They are brilliant under trousers. So comfortable.

ladyvimes · 08/09/2023 06:53

I really like M&S now and I keep thinking it’s got a lot better but then I realise I’m actually just getting old and it’s aimed more at my demographic!!

I was looking at this just last night. It's fab!

They have some lovely dark cigarette-style jeans, with a turn-up. (Now it'll depend how they fit as M&S jeans are notoriously variable on me. Sometimes lovely, sometimes horrendous).

Nah the stuff I'm buying now I would happily have bought for work in the past but it's definitely not what they were selling! A massive improvement.

Heatherbell1978 · 08/09/2023 07:05

I had a wee online M & S splurge last night and I agree, lots to choose from. I've always loved their coats and just treated myself to a long gilet.

Stripeypyjamas · 08/09/2023 07:08

It's the sizing that's annoying. As 5ft 4 I always need to take a punt on whether to get short or regular jeans or trousers and when their sizing is so erratic it can end up meaning sending back things all the time.
