Went into M&S today - OMG

Has anyone else been in recently? I was in today and it was just fabulous - so many nice pieces - and not just the sienna Millar campaign stuff

But if its anything halfway decent, they've never got a 10 or 12 in stock 🤷‍♀️

...and don't get me started on the trouser leg lengths!! Even short is a mile too long for me these days.

I bought a gorgeous burgundy long pleated skirt for winter the other day. Agree about their shoddy knickers though - I really like Fat Face for knickers (if you don't mind the patterns, the fit is really good and nice quality - and wide gussets, love a wide gusset!!)

Judging by the photo with the model linked upthread, that will be because m&s assume people now wear stilts at all times 🤔

Yes! I’m going back soon to stock up on my work clothes. I went in last week and said to my dd it’s the first time in years I’ve seen clothes that I actually want to buy and will buy!
I don’t know if they’ve changed designers but I think they’ve upped their game.

Yes, their trouser lengths are bonkers. I have long legs and now buy regular instead of long.

I feel the need to visit M and S after reading this thread.

M+S knickers are made for men now. Just check the (moderated) online reviews for them (if you have a strong stomach).

I love m&s. One of the few shops that does affordable classics with decent quality stitching and fabric.

It's wall to wall polyester and all the fabric patterns mismatched at the seams. Cheap looking.

Genuinely not running an ad but the items I bought included a satin shirt that was just lovely quality, a gorgeous Isabel Marant style boxy check coat, a nice cable knit jumper …
I could have bought lots more but really nice casual basics - the dresses are a bit off though

I did think the other day that they have finally listened when women say they want classic staples from M&S. I really want their linen tee shirts. Might head into town today and look.

I always like M&S for winter clothes, I've been waiting on their new coats - I do like the long pinkish check one.

I may have to get a satin shirt in magenta as I have a thing for them at the moment!

Went with my mum last week to the nearby store and was impressed.
They had lovely trousers and plain T shirts especially in the Autograph range.
The hoodies were really nice too I wanted a stone coloured one and it was really soft inside, pockets and had a loose hem at the bottom really comfy and about half the price of a Nike one that I'd seen recently which felt horrible inside.
Also yes to a lovely long thicker pleated skirt.

Can't beat the Heat gen tops as well to wear under long sleeve tops in the winter they're super thin so stay hidden but thermal. (Hard to think about currently I know but now is probably the time to buy).

Eldest dc just got a part time job there so am currently awaiting my employee discount second card holder with excitement.

They've made the trousers longer in the front seam too. I had to buy a long pair (needed black ones in a hurry) and although I can just about get away with the leg length, when I sit down they're so uncomfortable because the button pushes up under my ribs.

Went in there for an emergency shop trying to find a smart black blazer. I'm 5"2 and had looked all around town, so most jackets heading towards my knees and boxing me out. Petite range "it's online" everywhere I went.

Thought sod it, I'm going to have to try Marks' cause they have a petite section - it had gone! Just another reason to avoid, if "change where you feel most comfortable even if you're a man and you want to go into the changing room next to the women's underwear where teenage girls are getting their first bra fitting, but we won't say that bit" wasn't enough.
