Red light therapy for menopausal hair loss?

Has anyone used the red light / light therapy helmets for hair loss? I'm getting very upset by my thinning hair, which is all on the top and front of my head (androgenetic alopecia).

I'm very tempted by the hair loss helmets (e.g. this type of thing). They are expensive, so although I would try one, I'd like to know if anyone has used one and found it works!!

Would love to hear any stories (positive or negative) about those who have used them, or any other amazing treatments for female pattern balding!

I’d probably try a cheaper option first. This Gynae/menopause specialist suggests minoxidil. It might also be worth speaking to a trichologist. Low B12 can cause hair loss, as can ferritin levels under 70, low vitamin D and thyroid issues.

The thing with minoxidil is you have to keep taking it or you're back to square one. There are lots of these devices advertised but I'd be wary of buying on Amazon and the like as they could be Chinese rubbish fakes. How do you know what is genuine?
