Help me find a bag better than this one (haven't bought a bag in years!)

Lots of mixed feeling on the other thread when I posted this bag...so decided to keep looking

I don't care about the brand but I would like something made out of quality material

Requirements: cross body, goes well with a range of outfits, black or dark brown, maybe grey? Or another colour that is easy to match...medium size

My usual dress style is feminine / comfy / smart casual but I'm trying to add more 'smart' to my wardrobe - I'm not luxurious or glamorous unless I need to (rare)

Budget £140 and no 2nd hand (I don't mind pre-loved from a charity shop but I don't like buying it from eBay or other apps)

I ordered this Radley bag but can return if I don't 'feel it' or if I find something I like better

Thanks

Do you like that bag?

Whatever other suggestions are made you'll continue to get mixed reactions e.g there's been a thread about Louis Vuitton "Neverfull". I don't have any issues about anyone spending silly money on a bag, but for me LV is just horrible. I wouldn't use one even if I got one for nothing.

As for your bag here, it's a nice bag. I wouldn't buy it as I've just realised that apart from a black patent evening bag a tiny boxy mock croc evening bag, I don't own any black day bags.

Edit whoever styled that bag with possibly the most unattractive jeans ever created should be fired. It does the bag no favours.

People were harsh on the other thread. It doesn't wow me but I'm sure my bags wouldn't wow you. I also don't think you mentioned on the other thread that yiu are trying to be smarter; I think that's quite smart.

I like that bag but I have never had anything mock croc before...and I will really know if suits me once I receive it - I really need a bag atm so want to keep looking in case that one will be returned

MN posters tend to be very odd about Radley bags, it's the complete opposite ime in RL, all my friends love a Radley bag. It's a nice bag, it doesn't warrant 2 threads about it, you like it, it will be well made and go with everything , it's a reasonable price. Sorted 😊

Osprey have reasonably priced bags in smart shapes, so have a look there, too.

You'll never get everyone to approve any bag unanimously. There will always be someone sneering that it's crap.

Radley make nice bags. The brand isn't aspirational, but you won't get anything with snob appeal for your budget. Just go for quality and keep the shape simple if you want something smart.
