What to wear to a wedding please?

Hi there, I don’t live in the UK but I have a wedding to attend in Scotland in mid October. I have absolutely no idea what to wear as despite being Scottish and 65 with a bit of a belly I’ve never been to a British wedding apart from own.

Im probably a size 18 and I like a long sleeve and a V neck or deep V neck. My boobs are droopy now but I can get around that with a good bra. I also like a longer length dress but I’m happy with anything longer than knee length as I still have good legs. I’m a summer and really suit a wrap dress with a bit of a flounce or a frill round the hem and the nearest I’ve come to liking something on line are dresses by Jolie B. But I think I could probably do better than that. I’d quite fancy wearing a something in my ‘on the shoulder’ length grey hair and I’d like to wear stay up stockings with a pair of high heels. Nothing I have here at home is suitable to wear as we really dress up for weddings and it would all be OTT. Oh and I’m about 5’8”

Thank you.

Sorry, just to add I’d order online and try things on in Scotland a few days before the wedding.

Is it something you’re likely to wear again at home? If not, might it not be more cost effective to hire a dress? (Don’t know if you’d need someone in the UK to hire on your behalf.)

Otherwise, if you do want to buy - do you have a budget?

How about bombshell? Good for curvy figure wrap dresses
