My Sweet Smile tooth whitening powder?

Has anyone used this? I've just seen an advert for it and I'm tempted. Use 2 x week. £25 for 6m supply.
My DH's teeth are horrible as he drinks so much tea. Mine aren't great either.
Should I give it a go?

No whitening powder/toothpaste etc available over the counter will whiten teeth as legally they are not allowed to contain a suitable amount of the chemical that whitens teeth. Only dentists can prescribe teeth whitening and provide it.

At best they are abrasive or acid so are like cif for teeth ie they rub any stain (and tooth ) away but won't lighten teeth.

If teeth are heavily stained you might be better off paying for a hygienist visit which will safely get rid of any stain and tartar and they will show you how to stop it building up again. Expect to pay £45 to £65 (more if eg in London or high end practice ).

Many hygienists are direct access ie you don't have to be a patient of the practice to book an appointment.

Just looked up ingredients , number one is calcium carbonate , in other words you are paying £25 for chalk.

Eucryl powder is much cheaper. I use it once a week. It won’t remove bad staining, but it does get rid of light day-to-day staining from tea/coffee/wine etc.

I’d recommend a hygienist appointment and proper teeth whitening if your budget allows, then using Eucryl for maintenance.

certainly don't use eucryl more than once a week as it is amongst most abrasive of all dental cleaners and will very easily remove tooth enamel as well as stain. I would only use it to clean bathroom grouting. Again its main ingredient is calcium carbonate , chalk once more.

Eucryl will do the same and is under £2 the last time I saw it.
