Am I overthink this dress for a wedding?

I absolutely love this dress and it's. A gorgeous fit, but I'm worried I might come across as too formal- please let me know if I'm overthinking!

Context: wedding is in Istanbul, in the evening and the bride has told me she loves it, but I just want to sensecheck. I've only recently lost enough weight to wear anything like this and I'm still trying to get used to adapting my style from constantly covering up all my bumpy bits.

it looks very glam but I’d be very wary of a silk dress in a hot country, sweat will show right through it.

Weddings in Turkey are, generally, far more glamorous than here, with guests dressed in evening gowns exactly like this, rather than the "floral dress and fascinator" style appropriate for UK weddings. I think this is absolutely perfect - and really lovely too.

Wear it! It's fabulous and well done on the weight loss

This is a very good point! Even if I'm wearing Spanx Blush

Sorry that should have read 'even if I'm wearing Spanx? Blush'

How hot it will be depends on the season, and even in August the average high temp is about 28C in daytime, cooler at night. They get proper cold weather there in winter. A glamorous wrap might be a good idea to sling across tour shoulders.

Love this idea! Just not sure of the colour to go for?

Quick update: I wore it and it was perfect!
Would highly recommend a skid bodysuit (there's a cut out 'down there to wee out for all the questions )

Had a cream pashmina I wear for the service then took it off for dancing, and for those of you who gave context on turkish weddings you were 100% right. If anything I was underdressed- there were people in actual ballgowns!!

Thank you again everyone who has nice comments, I'm not sure I would have had the confidence to wear it otherwise I do love this forum.
