Where to get really good basics like t-shirt?

I've always gone fairly cheap on t-shirts, long-sleeved tops, etc - H&M, etc. But I'm thinking it might be worth investing in a few good quality items that will help me look more put together. Is it worth spending a reasonable amount of money on things like that? And if so, where would you recommend?

Cos T-shirts are lovely this year really nice shape and good colours, Uniqlo are another staple for me also good quality material and shape

Sorry yes and agree worth spending a little extra here for nicer basics that last longer if you can. But ASOS have some lovely shape t shirts in their basic range with a nice neck

Another vote for Uniqlo. I’ve been buying their long sleeved t shirts for years and I’ve found the quality high and consistent. They wash well too and don’t go out of shape. Ditto their short sleeved t shirts.

As an aside, they also do a really good thong that I find perfect for wearing under exercise leggings, it’s got quite a generous gusset (hate that word!) compared to other brands and is non bulky

For t-shirt I'd recommend Rapanui

I've been very happy with Cos, so would go there as first port of call now.

I rate & Other Stories. Their crew neck T shirts are well-cut and the neck is not too high (unflattering for those of us who are over-norked).

Uniqlo

I like the supima cotton scoop neck T-shirts from Jigsaw - they're a really fine cotton material.

I got a nice one from mango recently.
