Haircuts for thick, coarse hair

Hoping you can help me as I’m really struggling for ideas! I have very very thick hair which is coarse and getting coarser with age somehow (I’m 33). I have long hair which is really hard to maintain - I end up straightening it and even then I usually wear it half-up, half-down or just stick it up in a bun. I’d love a new haircut to make me feel good but when I google “haircuts for thick frizzy coarse hair” it only comes up with models who definitely do NOT have thick or coarse hair!!
Any ideas welcome, thank you so much ♥️

Following in the hope someone has some ideas. I’ve got very thick, coarse hair. It’s more wavy than curly now (menopause), but I always end up with it in a pony tail, or at least tying some of it back.

I have thick and coarse hair, and have a keratin treatment every 3 months. It is life changing in how it makes hair soft and manageable.

Is this the Brazilian blow dry? I’ve had it twice before, once a few years ago when my hair was shorter and I agree, it made a huge difference. But I had it a few months ago and it did basically nothing! Maybe the practitioner wasn’t as skilled / didn’t use enough for my lion’s mane 😂

I have your hair type and have still haven't got to the bottom of what to with it. I am mid 50s and whereas at your age a loose bun, or half up looked good, now it doesn't work. Shorter hairstyles look awful unless the hairdresser knows how to cut it. A lot of hairdressers don't know what to do with this hair type.

I’m following this as my hair is like 3 heads worth, shoulder length, and looks terrible short (or did when I was a teen, back in the dark ages!) I have had keratin treatments and they have worked but are £££ and I find if I wash, blow dry and straighten my hair it works almost as well.
I am much older than you, @closingtime101 but I tend to tie mine up in the summer as I get so hot!
