What can I wear with this?

I often wear dresses like this one for work in autumn/winter, with black opaque, boots and a long sleeve top underneath - but I really feel the cold and am always a bit stuck as to what to layer over the top for added warmth in the winter.
I work in a pretty casual environment so doesn’t need to be particularly smart or dressy.
Would love to hear any suggestions. Also happy to have any colour ideas that take me away from my endless sea of black and grey!

Black polo shirt underneath?

I'm not sure if they still have them but a few years ago I got a few thermal long sleeve vests from Matalan that I've worn as a top.

I had pale pink beige black grey etc. They had a sort of picot pattern and you wouldn't of known they were underwear

I would wear a long cardigan the same length as the dress

Nice dress. Thermal vest or long sleeved thermal top underneath and a wool jacket/blazer over the top?

Unlike the pp, I think picot fabric is an absolute giveaway it's a thermal top. M&S do them in plain black, grey, dark red and navy I think. They may also have some patterned ones.

I really feel the cold on the back of my neck and my shoulders when seated so a jacket of some sort really helps.

Thank you - I do have uniqlo heatech long sleeved tops that would work. My go to is a black cardigan but love the idea of red, and / or something longer.
