job interview/working wardrobe advice needed for slightly artsy environments

have just started doing the odd bit of work here and there, have some interviews coming up and I need to sort out a few bits.

haven't worked with any seriousness or regularity for 3 and half years and two babies later my old stuff doesn't fit [obviously]

am 38, don't need to be overly formal, but sort of pulled-together and unmumsy would do.

any suggestions?

get thee a black jersey dress.can be worn with funky coloured tights and long boots
or dressedupwith chunky jewellery
or worn with a jacket for smart
or with jazzy sandals
orover jeans for less formal

thankyou - have you seen any nice ones?

do you think i can get away with black what with my advanced years?

i'm also pale-skinned and slightly freckly, not always certain black is my best colour...

not black
choc brown or dark purple

other than that good advice

statement accessories a v good idea, people don't notice you are wearing same 3 boring tops if you add a bold scarf / necklace / interesting shoes etc

sage or chocolate
works as a maternity dress and a non maternity dress.
in case you were thinking about having another baby
