Where would I go to get really subtle lip filler done?

Or is there no such thing?

I don't want to change the shape or fullness of my lips, just to fill out the lines along the top lip iyswim. Is filler what I need?

Maybe I don't notice when it's done well, but I know a few people who think what they've done is natural looking and it's really not, even if they don't have a full on pout.

Assuming it's possible, how to a find someone to do a really natural look rather than the look that's so popular presently?

I have the same issue with my eyebrows. I just want a light natural tint, and although they can manage not so heavy as what's fashionable round here, they're definitely not natural looking until a week later!

Most tints won't look natural until the week after as it's always the darkest until it washes out properly! If it looked natural right away it would fade way sooner.

Lip fillers might be what you want, do you have a local nurse / dentist that does them? I get my aesthetics done by a local nurse because they're medically trained and they're (imo!) much better at getting the exact results I want. I get baby Botox, my own mum hasn't spotted in the last 4/5 years I've been getting it! I've seen people who get it and think it's natural but look frozen too.

For the eyebrow tint, I’d recommend doing your own. It’s really easy and you can then tailor the shade and/or time you leave it for to get it exactly how you want.

Yes I've been considering that. My natural colour is baby blonde, so eyebrows may as well be non existent. I was thinking grey might be better than brown?

Might be! To be honest I’m not the best person to ask as I have dark hair and brows so leave the dye on longer to get a better colour! But hopefully you’ll get some advice from others with fair hair. It’s fairly cheap to buy the packs of dye though so I think worth playing around.

Look for a qualified nurse who does them. I live in a small city so not much choice, but the lady I go to is fantastic and you'd never know. It lasts ages for me too - I get it topped up every 9 months.

As for brows, I do it myself, and sometimes go to a lady.

For lips I think its hard to avoid the "done" look, but it would be more about volume than anything. So 0.5ml, done with a medical practitioner is likely your best bet for having them looking plump and moisturised without looking bigger.

Optionyougot · 24/08/2023 15:09

For your brows, if you check online you should be able to get a light ash brown dye, and you could leave it on for the minimum suggested time to see how it goes

I know quite a few women who've had filler and you genuinely wouldn't know it to look at them. All have gone to a doctor or dentist for it though (IE a doctor who in their days off does Botox - not their local GP surgery 😂). I think they come at from a place of wanting to "enhance" rather than "change" iykwim

rhino12345 · 24/08/2023 15:14

Also for eyebrows, beard dye is your best bet I would reckon.

I have vertical cats bums lines over my top lip. I have moisturiser (hyaluronic acid) injected into this area to fill out the lines and give a nice lip line. Nothing injected into the lips themselves as I dislike a 'fake' look.

I also have lip blush that makes the lips look fuller without actually adding any volume.

I am a great fan of fillers and have had them often. Done well, you honestly can’t tell. But lip fillers? I only ever had them once, and never again. I have lost count of the number of people who have told me that what they had done is subtle. It never is. It always looks silly and weird.

blueraininlondon · 24/08/2023 18:09

I've had my nasolabial folds and cheeks done and they look natural. I think the give away is when people have their lips done!

Where are you roughly? I know someone incredible local to me

This. You can always tell, but people kid themselves that you can't.

RJnomore1 · 24/08/2023 18:18

I don’t have them so no skin in the game as such but some friends do and no, you can’t always tell. It’s just that the good ones - you can’t tell 😉
