Clothing ideas for a cruise.

Looking for ideas for a Mediterranean cruise. It's a long time since I've been on holiday and I need some new holiday clothes. I have a small budget, think Primark, Matalan, Peococks etc. I've bought a few things but returned everything. I'm 5'2", a busty size 14-16 and have a, large tummy. In my head I would be wearing linen trousers and swaffing around in dresses. However I look awful in linen trousers, they make me look huge. And if dresses hang from the bust again it makes me look huge. I need an empire line, or fitted under the bust. Can anyone recommend me anything.

I think most shops are moving forwards autumn now. I’d have a good look on Vinted and see if you can get anything there. Cruises aren’t formal, unless you opt to do the formal nights which we never do.

You could see if there are any summer trousers such as ankle grazer style. A bit more fitted than linen wide legs. What about a denim
maxi skirt with a t shirt?

When sailing and not in Port, it can be breezy on deck so a cardi or jumper is good.

I'm a similar height and dress size and I wear linen trousers but with a more fitted T-shirt.

I also wear shorts and un-tucked T-shirts on holiday. I'd never wear them outside the garden at home but I'm very unlikely to be seeing any of the people from holiday ever again so I opt for comfort.

Do you feel comfortable in shirred top dresses? There are a couple on the Asda George website in 100% cotton with short sleeves that are very nice. (I don't have them but my DDs with similar figures look amazing in them). They'd probably be mid calf length.

It's nice casual stull I'm after, I wear a lot or chino and denim shorts, it's more nice casual dresses I'm looking for, and nice tops. . I do shop on vinted but I struggle with sizing. As, I'm really a curvy 14, it depends on make. Angle frazers make me look like a parsnip. I'll have a look at George.

M&S sale for decent quality dresses.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 23/08/2023 15:50

Debenhams have a sale on too. You can search for petite dresses but it's a shame you can't filter by fabric as there's a few nice looking dresses but they are polyester. I'd personally avoid this as it might be a bit sweaty in the daytime in the Med. Could be an option for sitting in the air con drinking a cocktail in the evening though 🍸

Next clearance might have something, filter by size

H&M still have some decent cotton dresses online and the app also offers Monki and Arket which has some summer clothes.
I’d take dresses that can be dressed up with different sandals and maybe a casual jacket or down with Birkenstocks etc. Same with jewellery - mix of casual holiday style bracelets etc. Maybe you will find some bits at stop overs along the way too?
