Sick of carrying two bags

If you carry a backpack, do you carry a handbag too? Getting sick of carrying two bags around - one handbag and one backpack for my computer/work stuff. I want to find one BP for everything but I've never been able to make one work as my main handbag because you have to keep taking it off your back just to get out your phone and keys and stuff? What do you do?

(Silly topic, I knowGrin) Any recommendations for a decent backpack that's not at all annoying would be fab.

Nope so following. I have a backpack and small cross body for phone / keys / door pass etc

HowardKirksConscience · 21/08/2023 20:46

Pockets for phone and pass

Rucksack for everything else.

BasilParsley · 21/08/2023 20:49

What @HowardKirksConscience said. Alternatively, a small bum bag tethered round your waist while travelling to hold the phone, keys etc....

Pineapplemonkey · 21/08/2023 20:50

Nope, just the backpack, keys in one side pocket, phone in other. Seems pointless to carry another bag just for phone and keys

donkra · 21/08/2023 20:53

I cycle commute and carry a laptop backpack with just my phone and work pass in my pocket. Wallet and keys are in the top flap pocket.

I do have a La Mansio which is smart, pockety and can go backpack/crossbody/briefcase style. https://lamansio.com/

I shove everything in a Le Pliage or a Coach tote. I feel that I am too old for backpacks, althoughI do have one for travelling.

This bag looks AMAZING! I never envisioned that I might ever spend that much on a bag but that one looks like it could be something that would tempt me. What a useful collection of features in a beautiful object.

Those of you who say pockets, do you have big enough pockets in all your clothes? I often wear skirts/dresses and they don't come with ruddy pockets ! I need a more reliable solution!

I only carry a backpack. I have never understood why you need both. Just make sure your coat / outfit has enough pockets for your cards and phone - or failing that can a small card / phone crossbody.

In my defense. I bought the Mansio when it was a Kickstarter and got the early bird discount. It is fab though. I have the tan.

I love the black Saffiano, it's rather gorgeous. I'm not polished enough for it though! I'm a scruffy bird. Grin

I carry a backpack and a very small crossbody for phone, keys, travel card.

In the winter I’ll put the crossbody bad items in pockets.

NatashaDancing · 21/08/2023 21:37

Le Pliage for everything. I only have to carry a laptop on a Monday morning to get to work and a Friday evening to take it home I use a Radley laptop bag for that.

I don't like rucksacks/ backpacks.

@HundredMilesAnHour Just my own opinion I know but gawd those are SO ugly. Especially the first one. £260? Id rather carry my stuff around in a plastic bag

The strange puffy, slimy looking one in an unpleasant shade of brown is indeed very ugly.

Hollyppp · 21/08/2023 21:57

Just use a KNOMO black backpack and keep it all in that. Sorted

ohcrums · 21/08/2023 21:58

I have similar problem I think what I need a rucksack with lots of pockets

Vogue disagrees with both of you so I guess neither of you will be taking over from Edward E. 😂

Hawkins009 · 21/08/2023 22:01

I have a similar setup, I use one of those types of fishing bags as a side bag and a backpack when needed for heavy but not urgent items.

That said to be more flexible I have tried those business / laptop trolleys on wheels which makes it easier to put my main items in.

Hawkins009 · 21/08/2023 22:02

That's similar to the one I use

This is genuinely the best looking practical bag I've ever seen 😍
