How much does it cost to take a dress up?

A wedding guest dress, that is knee length but needs an inch or two taking off it in length.

Does anyone round about know how much this would cost?

It depends where you are and how wide the skirt is but in the shop I work in, it would be between £14 and £22.

Also, whether it is more than 1 layer will make a difference to the price.

What fabric is the dress? Some dresses need to be shortened at the waist. Most will be ok with a hem.
