Can I have my hair highlighted following a home dye bodge job?

Will it take again or will I have to bleach it out. My hair is naturally dark brown but dyed caramel/honey tones. had a major root problem and no time to get to the hairdressers so put a home dye on it which is fine apart from the fact that I have long thick hair and it didn't cover properly and I have a patch which is much lighter than the rest. It is supposed to last 6-8 weeks but I can't wait that long. Have been washing it constantly and it is fading gradually.

Will highlights take or would they have to bleach it?

dont do it. go to good hairdressers and ask for advice

I wouldn't bleach it myself. I have an appointment at the hairdressers on saturday but I don't want them to use bleach on it. I'd rather not go and wait for it to come out on its own. I can wait if I have to.

can you go in before then and get 5 mins advice from the stylist? i suspect they woudl need to see your hair to give an assessment
