Crease free trousers for travelling

I’m travelling later this year - basically I’ll be moving around a lot so will be more like backpacking for three weeks.

I want to pack very light so I’m not carrying too much heavy weight around. The weather where I’m going will be 20-25 degrees during the day so warm but not super hot.

Im planning on taking 2-3 pairs of trousers and looking for something:

  • lightweight so can hand wash and dry in hotel rooms
  • thin enough for warm temps
  • crease free so won’t look like a rag
  • wide or tapered leg (nothing too slim/skinny)

I don’t really wear skirts/dresses much but have a couple that I can take but will definitely need a couple of trousers for more active days eg cycling, going on longer walks etc.

I’ve seen these from ADAY which look great for travelling but they’re very expensive. Has anyone seen any other trousers that might fit the bill? I would ideally be spending up to £100 or so a pair.

Pants

Soft, lightweight, and designed to flatter, these pieces blend luxurious comfort with breathable structure for everyday wear.

A shop I follow on Instagram promote Naya travel trousers. No idea what they’re like. Sounded a bit sweaty to me. I think anything crease free is likely to have a high synthetic content.

The only alternative I think is cotton , I’ve worn Toast ones the last few years, previously had a cheap h and m pair but obviously they may crease.

Depends on the look you might want, but Cotswold outdoor will have plenty of lightweight walking trousers, which will be crease few/dry quickly etc. Tend to be on the pricey side though.

Thanks @LivingDeadGirlUK @Countmeout will have a look!

That’s a good point @crumpet - I should have said I’m not looking for really outdoorsy trousers. I’ll be taking one set of sports kit for any proper hiking but it’s more likely I’ll want something for a day walking around followed by dinner/drinks etc and don’t want to be in outdoors gear really. Will have a look at outdoors shops though as I know sometimes you’ll get stuff that is pretty versatile.

Generally want to look/feel fairly stylish whilst having a practical wardrobe which I know is difficult!

These look nice thanks @Apple2023 . Do they go baggy at the knees? I’ve had that problem with a pair of Hush joggers - the knees are super baggy.

I wear mine a lot and they have kept their shape and wash well, I sized down 2 sizes so they are a nice fit as I didn’t want anything too baggy.

ChilliPB · 16/08/2023 15:59

Thank you @Apple2023!

I have a couple of pairs of patterned lightweight trousers from hush. I can dress them up and down, very comfy and great for travelling

I got these to travel in with a t shirt, they're great for £10 and look good on, but they are manmade, polyester and elastane, which if you want crease free, is probably what you'll have to go with...they dried in about 2 hours though and no ironing required!
