Teen beauty box

Hi there,

My DSD’s 15th birthday is coming up at the start of Sept and I’m thinking of ordering her a beauty box as she’s recently got into spending time on her appearance. I just can’t find any - I’ve tried Glossybox as that’s one that I had for a bit. I’ve looked at Look Fantastic. Neither has a teen box (and I know from experience the adult ones are a bit hit and miss so I wanted a one-off teen box not a subscription service).

Or other suggestions…?

She’s not massively into make up. At the moment it’s false eyelashes and hyaluronic acid. My partner is getting her a dressing table for her birthday so I thought I’d get something fitting with that theme.

Available today from Boots
A Festival box

Thanks for that. This is a good shout. She doesn’t identify with going to festivals yet (older brother’s thing) and I daresay I might need a more ‘luxe’ idea. I will go for this though, if no other ideas, as it’s still a good shout. Thank you.

There were lots of people buying this and looking at it, so I got a bit antsy and bought one. So I have this as a back up order, which I can always return if anyone else recommends something that might be more ‘her’.

Next have some excellent ones on the website.

Beauty pie do a teenage skin set. I purchased for my nieces and they really liked it.

234vhh · 16/08/2023 12:32

@vjg13 i can’t find them - do you have a link or a tip off as to what search term to use?

@alannabanana81 - thank you. I think I’ve found it but it’s £62 if you’re a member (which I’m not) and over £200 if you’re not. Both are too dear for me.

Thank you - I saw those but I thought I might be missing something as there isn’t a teen one specifically. I’ve started having a browse.

Ah sorry I forgot about the BP membership - hope you get something nice. I always see the inky list get good reviews here but probably not specifically teenage

234vhh · 16/08/2023 16:20

Yeah - just had a look at them at not teenage, as you predicted.

What did you go for/did you find anything else?
I love beauty pie some excellent products but disappointed that a teen kit doesn’t include spf.

I went with the Boots one suggested above. Funny you ask that now as I’ve literally just wrapped it to give to the birthday girl in 15 mins!

Doh, just seen you asked it yesterday - I should’ve said ‘funny I should see the message now’!

Thanks - it’s a good idea but feel the market needs to catch up!

User23452 · 10/09/2023 10:56

That boots one looks great!

234vhh · 10/09/2023 11:36

Yes, I agree about the market needing to catch up. My 9 year old loves looking through what’s left of the stuff I kept when I had a Glossy Box subscription and trying stuff out.

If there was a plant based type of box still available, similar to that one that went out of business (I had a subscription for a while but I’ve forgotten the name) I’d get that one for her.

And for my DSD (15) a teen one would be great too.

I'd make a one off yourself. You don't want to get teens into the habit of just a random box of stuff they may or may not use.

Absolutely not. A 9 year old does not need a beauty subscription box.

234vhh · 10/09/2023 11:48

No-one ‘needs’ a beauty subscription box. Mine would love one. Everyone’s different 🤷‍♀️
