Somewhere like Ragdale Hall - steam rooms and saunas

Hi. I have just come back from a birthday treat at Ragdale Hall. I've been a few times over the years and was wondering if there is anywhere else that has all of the different steam rooms and saunas.

I'm not bothered about the facials and beauty treatments but loved the different fragranced rooms and the candle pool.

I've been Googling and it looks like various places will have a steam room and sauna, but not a variety.

Does anyone have any experience? I'm in the Manchester area but can travel!

Thank you

Rudding park is amazing

Don't laugh, but I love the Aqua Sana at Centre Parcs. They have lots of different rooms (about 10?), each themed and scented differently. I've been for just the spa break, so no where near the busy, family bit.

hoar cross hall has a few - it’s near Burton on Trent if that’s not too far?
from memory it’s got three steam rooms and three or four saunas.

I've enjoyed Henlow Grange and Springs but if the different temperatures/perfumes is what you want I also recommend Aqua Sana.

If you don't mind travelling say for a holiday, then there are three in Germany which are large and have a variety- Vabali in Berlin, Therme Erding near Munich and one in Stuttgart whose name I forget.

Thank you all for your replies. I have now Googled Aqua Sana and it looks lovely. Just need to find a quiet time!

Will also look at Rudding Park. I think it is quite near.

Titanic spa has different steam rooms. Not sure if it compares to rudding park....

Aqua Sana at Sherwood Forest Center Parcs is lovely. I don't do treatments but can spend a day there easily and has a small pool too.

Buxton Crescent hotel spa has different saunas etc plus outdoor jacuzzi. They had a big refurb a couple of years ago, it’s beautiful

Esana Buxton

Look at Woodland Spa in Burnley, which is close to you and probably one of the best in the country, in northern England at least.

rowantree1997 · 19/08/2023 08:47

The Belfry used to have a fire and ice section which was lovely. Haven't been for many years.

Pancakebatter · 19/08/2023 08:56

I’m looking to find somewhere near London or Edinburgh as a present for relatives. So any recommendations welcome.

Loopylooni · 20/08/2023 03:44

Aqua Sana. I thought it would be rubbish as I hadn't heard great things about centre parcs generally but the spa was brilliant and extremely clean. Well worth a day visit

StrawberryPavlova · 20/08/2023 06:17

Eden Hall at Newark is lovely, it's the sister spa to Hoar Cross Hall.

Daddylonglegs123 · 20/08/2023 06:42

Another vote for CenterParcs all the rooms are lovely.

You used to be able to go for the full day and really chill out with a light breakfast, light lunch, visiting all the different warm smelling rooms, have a dip in the heated outdoor pool and spend time chilling in between in various comfy spaces. We used to often book a sneaky/cheeky day off when the kids were young and go midweek straight after dropping them off at school. They did after school club one day a week so that was a good day to choose. It felt very decadent but lovely.

BanditsOnTheHorizon · 20/08/2023 07:42

Whittlebury Hall in Northampton

springvibes · 20/08/2023 07:50

Woodland spa, Ribby hall, Low Wood Bay are all good. Agree about Center parcs too!

ChocolateCakeOverspill · 20/08/2023 07:56

Clifford Health Spa has loads. It’s not in a fancy setting though and is I would say pretty basic in terms of food etc but the price reflects this. I really liked it (but I am easily pleased).

Rainbowsandrainclouds1 · 20/08/2023 08:07

Another vote for Aqua Sana.

Ive been to many award winning spas in 4 and 5 star hotels and not one of them has every come close to the center parcs spas.

Bobbybobbins · 20/08/2023 08:09

The renovated Buxton crescent spa hotel is lovely

Bobbybobbins · 20/08/2023 08:10

@ChocolateCakeOverspill

I love Clifford too- such good value!

Augustone · 20/08/2023 08:59

Another vote for Woodland Spa near Burnley
