Levi’s high rise straight. Did you need to size up?

I had to size up to size 11 when in my cropped 501s I am a 27.

Just wondered if it’s the norm.

It depends on the composition, I only wear high rise Levi's and can range between 3 different sizes depending on the stretch. I believe the unisex 501s don't have as much stretch (if any) as the women's.
