What to wear in the evening on holiday?

We’re going to Rhodes at the end of august so it will be HOT! I’ve looked at the resort and it says the restaurants are smart/casual with a dress codes that specifes no shorts (amongst other things).
I was going to wear smartish shorts with a sleeveless top and heeled sandals but not sure it’s smart enough.

What else can I wear? I have a couple of dresses but any other ideas would be good.

I’m short and a curvy 12/14 and need proper bras (32GG) so tops have to have thick straps to cover the bra straps.

Bravissimo do strappy tops with built in bras. Personally, I have a few long, lightweight dresses that are loose and flowing and I wear those in the evenings. I think the no shorts rule actually applies to men.

This! Or similar kaftan. This is from

Light, flows, a bit dressy. Perfect Rut evenings in a hit country!

The No shorts policy is usually for men

Are you sure it's for women too because I've never heard of that being the case

curlycat · 13/08/2023 23:14

Normally the short policy is for men and they mean not sports/casual shorts, my DH normally wears chini type shorts for dinner and they're allowed

Confuzzleduzzled · 14/08/2023 08:27

Thanks everyone. I didn’t think about the rule being just for men but that would make sense.

Get some skirts to wear with your tops? You'd only need a few.

It'll be hot so I'd opt for dresses. Also wouldn't bother with heels as often the ground is a bit uneven, flats all the way.

My DH was wearing shorts on holiday in Kenya once and we went straight to dinner as it was too late to change. They put him in a sarong 😂

Sorry OP that was no help at all.

I wear dresses pretty much every night! Never heels except for a blocky tan sandal I’ve got that are as comfy as flats.

Cos is great for holiday dresses; I’ve got a blue knot-back detail dress from there and a bright orange one. Also a white one from &OtherStories I love so much that is really flowy and wide but has good weight so drapes so nicely. I wear platform chunky black sandals with that.
I also like co-ords; I’ve got a patterned detail tie-back drop too and floor length skirt from mango. I usually wear that with white Palmeiras.
Skirts and tops - usually vest or crop top with necklaces layered over and long skirts with flat slider type sandals (I’ve got a tan pair with a gold band that I love).

Hope this helps with some inspiration!

*tie back detail too!

TOP.. god, sorry. I know everyone knew what I meant but I have this correction compulsion!
