Bomber jackets which hit at the waist?

I feel like my look of slightly longer coats looks quite dated but I thought it was flattering. Can a shorter coat be flattering? I'm a size 16 hourglass.

Not bomber but I got a cream (they do other colours) denim style from Fat Face

I wanted it to wear with dresses and it fits the bill.

I had bought a cord beige jacket that was much shorter and thought thats what I needed to go with dresses but the slightly longer one felt better.

Also 16 not sure about hourglass
