every damn one

even super duper waterproof ones

within half an hour I have panda undereyes

I only put it on my top lashes and even then it manages to shift itself to under my eyes in double quick time

I favour rimmel xtreme definition because I like the comb, but I don't think it has extraordinary staying power.

cornsilk · 28/02/2008 14:23

That happens to me as well. Makes me look pissed.

Cappuccino · 28/02/2008 14:28

I look as if I have been crying all the time cornsilk

Get them tinted. Really. I do - and you've met me, I'm hardly Mizz Glossypants, am I - and it is such a relief not to have a grey smudge under my eyes yet actually have perceptible lashes.

Cappuccino · 28/02/2008 14:31

but mi you have met me too and I am v dark brown haired and my lashes are already as dark as they can get

they are thin though and small

motherinferior · 28/02/2008 14:32

Er then I would leave them, though, frankly, as a smudge is not a good look.

woodenchair · 28/02/2008 14:32

I have this problem, although it's alot better since I started making sure I don't get any eye cream or moisteriser on my eyelashes. It seems to stay on better

Will watch thread with interest and hope that the best one is under a tenner.

Ettenna · 28/02/2008 14:33

I've had the same problem for years - I think because my skin's a tad oily, so each blink picks up a bit of oil which encourages smudging.

i got a Ruby and Millie mascara free with a magazine and it's been a revelation - for some reason it just doesn't budge but cleanses off easily. It's in a slim silver tube; i think they're about a tenner.

sparkleymummy · 28/02/2008 14:34

Max factor Aqualash. Been using it since I was 16 (blimey just realised that's nearly 20 years!) and its fab. Even better if you leave the top off for a day or two when you first buy it.

LilRedWG · 28/02/2008 14:36

If your lashes are already dark why don't you get a clear mascara, just to gloss and define, or just use Vaseline.

Cappuccino · 28/02/2008 15:21

clear mascara? really? is there such a thing?

alwaysdoingsomething · 28/02/2008 15:41

If even the super dooper waterproof ones run then it could be your routine before you apply the product. Do you put on eye cream or a heavy moisturiser before mascara? This is prob preventing the mascara from adhering to your lashes. Try missing out one eye tomorrow and see how well that stays.

DualCycloneCod · 28/02/2008 15:41

My sister uses a really scary expensive one by Kanebo which called 106deg, I think. You can only take it off with water that is 106deg in temperature...doesn't even come off with oily removers. Coats each lash in a minute tube of black plastic. difficult to explain

otherwise, I use a good YSL one called, erm,

Tallis · 28/02/2008 16:03

Oooooooops. Not 106deg at all - it's actually Kanebo Mascara 38'C Silk Performance and you can get it in Harrods. God, imagine putting 106deg C water on your eyes. I've got bf brain.

LilRedWG · 28/02/2008 20:27

Here you go - clear mascara

NeverReady · 28/02/2008 21:05

The smudging under the eyes thing has always happened to me. Even worse is the fact that I developed an allergy to mascara a few months ago so could hardly wear any. But... have recently discovered Blink (or is it Blinc?) mascara which 'tubes' the lashes. It doesn't budge/smudge until you take it off with warm water. And so far, no nasty reaction! I was given a free sample but I think it costs about £18, you can order it on the internet too. I'll be going to get mine as soon as my sample runs out!

Cappuccino · 29/02/2008 09:28

is the blinc stuff easy to get off?

I looked at the website and it seemed a bit of a faff

OP posts:
NeverReady · 29/02/2008 16:30

Yes, it is easy to remove but looks a bit scary when you first do it because it doesn't 'dissolve' onto the cotton wool, you can actually see all the tubes come off. However, once they are wiped away they're gone IYSWIM - I don't wake up in the morning with panda eyes like I did with the expensive blue Lancome eye make-up remover (name escapes me!).
