Facials - has anyone had one and wondered why they threw their money away?

I have just had my first Dermalogica facial from someone listed on their website (I presume that she would have some training in order to be put forward by them). Normally, during a facial I feel quite relaxed but her technique was more on the rough side. Also, her analysis of my skin seemed dubious in that it contradicted some of the obvious. I get the feeling that there are some who have done some basic course in skincare and are then let loose on the public, holding themselves out as professionals. How can you ensure that someone is well trained and qualified to give a proper facial and a reasonable analysis?

Know exactly what you mean.

Good pointers are usually long appointment list or friend referral.
