Apparently it's very dressy, black, evening wear?!

Please can anyone confirm?

If it's the Moulin Rouge in Paris, this is the dress code.

Is there a dress code for Moulin Rouge in Paris?

Elegant attire required (tie and jacket not mandatory): no shorts, no short-pants, no flipflops, no running shoes, no sportswear and no open shoes for Gentlemen.

Although most reviews just say smart, as in business smart, and no shorts, trainers or flip flops.

“2. How to dress at the Moulin Rouge Paris?Proper attire is required. Shorts, Bermuda shorts, flip-flops, and sports shoes are not accepted. If you don’t know which outfit to dress at the Moulin Rouge in Paris, go for a casual-chic outfit (e.g., shirt, dress).
Good to know!
A cloakroom is available on-site. This service costs 2 euros per article deposited. However, large bags, suitcases, and bulky backpacks are not accepted.”

If it's not the place in Paris and you're just off to the theatre in London then wear what you want, no one will care.

Thank you. So sorry. I should have said London.

The musical in London isn't dressy. Usual theatre attire. I think I wore a Mint Velvet summer dress and a denim jacket.

Have fun, it's ace!

I've been to Moulin Rouge in London and it wasn't noticeably dressy. Great show!

Thank you so much; this is music to my ears!
