Trench Coat with a hood?

I am looking to buy a rain coat or trench coat or something similar but with a hood. I need it to be somewhat tailored and in a navy colour since browns and beiges don't suit me. I saw someone wearing a beautiful one today, just what I wanted (but without the hood) and didn't have the guts to ask where she got it from...

And do you think I hood will make it look frumpy? I need it from when I don't want to carry un umbrella.

I'd love to find one of these, but almost all coats with hoods seem to be pretty casual. Always on the lookout.

Or searching 'hooded princess coat' brings up some structured options.

I have a knee length Protected Species plus a midi length M&S trench coat, both with hoods though neither are navy.

The M&S one might fit your 'more structured' requirement - don't think they're doing it at the moment but worth looking out for it in the autumn.

I think one of the Uniqlo Blocktech raincoats also has a hood although again I donI know about colours.

I never carry an umbrella - cannot stand them. It is my personal belief that any company trying to sell a raincoat without a hood should be chased out of town. They look fine.

Zara did a few navy ones and these are usually on vinted for under £10 I got one off there a few months ago and keep seeing them now on recommended for you .

Sorry now I think about it, I don't think any of the Uniqlo Blocktechs are trench coats so cancel that one.

Try Zara. I got a splendid midi trapeze Mac with a nice hood - clean lines, not a dog walking coat.

The ones from next are what I’m looking for but those colours look awful on me and I wear a lot of black so need something to break it - why they don’t do navy🥲?

What did you end up getting op?

It's my birthday in a couple of weeks and my DH has gotten me that wolf and badger on in black. It's cheaper direct from the site.
