Short legs and casual shoes/trainers

I am starting to realise short legs and trainers are not a great match. The rounded toe on most of them do the opposite of elongating my legs.

When trainers go up to my jeans/trainers I look short and stumpy. For example this kind of trainer, it gets worse the bigger the trainer is:

In other shoes or boots I look for a pointed toe. If you have short legs, do you wear trainers and if so what kind?

I'm wondering whether I need to match my trainer colour to my jeans/trousers. I look better in more of a pump where there is quite a bit of the foot on shoe - but these are only ok when I can go without socks.

I'm 5'4 and have 27 inch legs and a small frame
I can't wear chunky trainers at all.. I look like I have clown feet!
Adidas Superstars fit me perfectly and look neat on my feet
More of a classic style
Adidas Stan Smiths are similar
