Best bra for side boob

whoami24601 · 04/08/2023 11:29

I'm looking for a good non underwired bra that provides side support. I'm trying to get my wardrobe sorted due to getting a new job. I have lots of nice clothes but none of them hang right and I think it's because my bras are not right! Since DC (4) I've been wearing bras without underwire and I love them but I am blessed with a fair amount of side boob and so when I'm wearing something tight fitting I look a really odd shape! All the bras I can find are aimed at a larger bust or sports bras but I'm relatively small chested 32/34 C/D, just well spread Grin I have an afternoon in Central Manchester next week so hoping I can get to some shops to try on. Any tips?

Biggest cause of side boob would be wearing too small a cup so there's nowhere else for it to go.

Are you 100% sure of your size? 34d is a big back with a small cup.

I second pp, get properly measured, it'll make a world of difference.

Or, try on loads of bras in the same style but different sizes, you will be amazed at the difference it makes. A properly fitted bra should not give side boob!

Try a Fantasie side support bra. Don't expect a big choice of colours though.

Daffodil77 · 04/08/2023 12:18

I also recommend fantasie. The feature you're after is side sling.

It's definitely not the cup size that's the issue. I've been properly measured and this is the right size, my boobs are just an odd shape 🤷‍♀️ I do the scoop and cup method but still have a lot of boob at the side!

I like Freya bras, no side boob issues.

skgnome · 04/08/2023 12:21

You need to get properly fitted and a decent fitter will also recommend the bra that works for you
as others have said side boob is a product of a large band with a small cup - check BOB on Facebook- they explain it and have tons of good recommendations

accentdusoleil · 04/08/2023 12:21

There is a bravissimo on king street who do fittings . Worth a visit

PTSDBarbiegirl · 04/08/2023 12:27

I found brilliant one in M&S it's called 'Flexi fit minimiser bra' own make £22 really well made, very comfy and absolutely does the job!

whoami24601 · 04/08/2023 13:29

OK I'm just trying to locate my tape measure to double check my size but no luck!

I stand corrected - just done boob or bust and it's recommended a 30G! Last time I did it I was a 32D so a bit different! Apologies all 🙈

Try the Elomi Morgan.

blimmy · 04/08/2023 15:43

I like the Freya Viva or Offbeat bras, they have quite good side sling.

whoami24601 · 04/08/2023 18:01

Would people recommend Bravissimo for fitting then? Is there much pressure to buy from there if they fit you? Not sure I'm up to paying £40 for one bra!

I wouldn’t particularly recommend Bravissimo. They don’t measure, so it’s a case I’d trying on until you get the right fit. I would avoid going at busy times, it’s chaos at the one near me at the weekend. I don’t find that the staff put you under pressure to buy. More often than not I end up leaving with nothing as they don’t have my size or colour in stock!

I find that most Fantasie bras work well for me. Panache Fusion is a good everyday bra. If you find something that suits you then you can look around to see if you can find in online cheaper.

whoami24601 · 12/08/2023 12:38

So for those who care - you were all right! Went to M and S and started with a 30G, ended up in a 32G 😱 apparently my boobs are a lot bigger than I thought!

Just remember boobs are like cats. No matter how nicely you treat them, care for them, nice colours you dress them in etc, boobs seem to have a mind of their own 😂.

poppym12 · 13/08/2023 09:20

Could you link the one you found suitable please @whoami24601 ? I've got a bigger back size than you but very wide set boobs. I've stopped wearing underwired bras over the last year or so but would love to find a non wired bra with side support.

Unfortunately I did end up with underwires but my friend told me about an m and s bra that isn't underwired with support. I'll try and get the details.

You can buy at the counter and have it sent to your home address

It's just a number and letter

Not sure what this means? The numbers and letters are not arbitrary...
