Brazilian wax….. what just happened??

So 12 years ago I used to go to a lady where I lived and she did sugaring on me. I used to have full leg and a Brazilian with a triangle left. I don’t know if she was super thorough or if I’ve just been butchered…..I just braved it and got a full leg wax and Brazilian from a beauty salon. I had the right length hair but I can still see strips of hairs over my knees, legs etc which I’m annoyed about but……. the Brazilian…. WTF?! I told her I wanted a triangle left not a strip and showed her what I meant, she’s left me with a strip. But worse that that she’s taken the hair off one lip and not touched the other, didn’t do bum either. My sugaring lady literally left me with a triangle, did my bum and even my big toes. Was she just super thorough or have I just been butchered by the waxing lady? She must have seen she had done one lip and not the other. It looks utterly ridiculous so need to shave which defeats the whole point of me going. I only looked and saw when she had left for me to get dressed and I was so mortified I’ve done the British thing of not say anything, paid and legged it out.

You need to ring and speak to.the manager. This person does not sound trained. I'd be wanting a refund. I would think a triangle is just a high leg wax, but it should be even.

You’ve reminded me how bloody awkward it is getting waxed in that area. Have you considered laser? It’s almost a decade since I got lasered and I have minimal wispy hair growth even now.

I would take myself back down and ask for someone else to rectify the problem and for a partial refund.

No a Brazilian for me always has been everything off except for a landing strip/small triangle

A Brazilian does include the lips and bum, you can have it with a strip or small triangle.

I contacted the salon again and they are telling me that strip means down the front, down the lips and bum. Even if that were true surely they would have at least done it even?!

But you told her what you expected so what if you got the name wrong?
I do massage if someone asks me for relaxing and during consultation we realise they really want deep tissue I dont hold them to relaxing massage that would be crazy 😂.
I do what the client asks for if its safe etc etc.

You need to find someone just as thorough as your old lady was. I’ve had waxing done and been left with hairs and I make mental note not to have that person again. That said it’s really hard to find someone who gets all the hair :(

Agree - Brazilian is a strip , and like your original lady did for you. Dunno OP, but in my experience- good therapists like this are hard to find nowadays. My sister is a beautician so i go to her , but i know a lot of people opt for the laser hair removal nowadays. Not me, im a wuss!🤣. Maybe something to consider tho?

Sounds like another crap salon with crap therapists, OP.

You’re quite correct. A Brazilian is everything off front to back with a strip or triangle at the front. Most places include bum cheeks.

Ask for your money back and if they don’t comply leave an honest review.

A Brazilian includes the lips and bum, and leaves a small patch right at the front. I'll never forget the first time I got one...I was asking about the difference between the different waxing options and the technician, who had a VERY strong Kiwi accent said that once you waxed the 'lips' you'd reached a Brazillian. I can't think of the word 'lips' now without thinking of her!

I'm going to laugh but only because it'll all grow back and you'll end up laughing too. To make you feel better let me tell you about that time I went to a place that was "super cheap" at only X euros and then I did the bikini line (did the left and the right side, hold on to this information it will all make sense). She was a cold butcher and there was blood on my knickers like I'd been stabbed! Then I went to pay and she said well it's twice X euros because "it's X for each side", so X for right side and X for the left side... And, cherry on top, I paid and didn't complain!

For me, a real Brazilian is everything (front and back) because of the shape of the bikinis. Ocasionally they leave a strip at the front but you need to ask for it.

I would consider this to be a Brazilian, with a tiny triangle/strip of hair at the front.

A good waxer is golden! I’ve had so many botched ones over the years.

I get a Hollywood now as I realised the small strip left after a Brazilian looked a bit daft. But my beautician leaves me completely and gloriously hairless.

I used to go to ‘Strip’ the waxing chain, but for all their ££££ waxing rooms etc, they took a bit of my skin off in one wax session and gave me bad wax jobs a bunch of other times. Honestly the best waxes I’ve had were from an ancient Indian granny I heard of through word of mouth. Now I think of her I wonder if she’s still alive 🤔😂

I got a half leg and brazilian last week and have a small strip at the front. She also did my toes and bum. If you're in central London I'd be happy to recommend.

I agree that you either need to go back or go elsewhere and say someone else has made a total hash and can they help you. I have a regular Hollywood (all off is far easier to maintain then retaining some areas) at the same salon, usually with the same beautician, so she knows what I want. But I think it's important that people don't just ask by a single word (Brazilian, Hollywood etc) but explain exactly what they want so there can be no misunderstanding.
