Have a 50th birthday party coming up and the theme is “70s disco” 😅

I’m a size 22, hate jumpsuits, hate my belly, hate anything clingy and prefer longer tops etc.

@CassTheFox I love that too! I’d looked at that but wasn’t sure if it followed the theme 😅🙈 I have no idea about the 70s 😅 everything I Google seems to be more floral or swirly patterns!

Budget can be flexible if items are likely to be worn again 😊 if it’s more “costume” and going to get one wear then stuck on Vinted then cheaper preferably!

I rather randomly bought some trousers from Karen Millen tonight. I think being 59 is making me a bit odd. But I do like them.

I recently went to a Studio 54 themed party and 99% of the women were wearing a short sequinned dress like @CassTheFox posted - Shein and the like sell them - platform sandals and a faux fur jacket. A few in aviator sunglasses.

70's hair and makeup is fun!

@CassTheFox @Mumwithbaggage @Seddon if any of you are still around…I’ve gone for a silver sequinned dress!! When I’m looking at shoes online lots of the disco outfits seem to have tall platform boots? I’m not blessed in the leg department so would prefer a shoe or sandal - should it be matchy matchy in a silver platform sandal? Or a bright colour?

And what would you go for in jewellery/accessories? 😊

I don't think you need a lot of jewellery or accessories if you'll be in full sequins.

Thinking back to the party I went to a lot of the women were just in a nude or white platform sandal which could easily have been something they already owned, or at least bought with the intention of wearing again.

@HoliHormonalTigerLillyTheSecond here it is 😅 I feel like a giant disco ball and don’t think I’ve worn sequins since I was about 7 but it’ll be good fun 🤣

@Seddon I do have nude ones but they just didn’t look right with it! I’ll maybe try white 😊
