I am defeated. I did find an absolutely beautiful Alexander McQueen dress on sale, in blue and very Galaxy-like (but with long sleeves). Sadly, it was only in stock in a 16. Grrrh.

At the risk of outing myself as a saddo, I caught the end of Countdown this evening and Carol Vorderman was wearing this dress.

That's of no use to you at all is it sorry, unless you are friends with her of course. I'm sure she has friends.

Tutter · 06/03/2008 19:50

at cameron diaz's shoes

PatsyCline · 06/03/2008 19:50

All of them. Beetroot is trying to kill us.

Beetroot · 06/03/2008 19:52

I ahve given up on he blue dress for now

I just need a dress for a rather glam and fab wedding in two weeks

OP posts:
Beetroot · 06/03/2008 19:53

sadly carol and I are not firends

OP posts:
MrsMills · 06/03/2008 19:55

´tis a shame, I'm sure she would have lent it to you.

PatsyCline · 06/03/2008 19:56

Sorry, cross posts, MrsMills. That very photo was linked to earlier in the thread and I suggested Beetroot beg Carol V for it. My theory was that Carol wouldn't be wearing it anymore as she has been papped in it, but Carol getting it out for 'Countdown' has foiled my cunning plan.

Beetroot · 06/03/2008 19:57

yes sad isn't it

OP posts:
Tutter · 06/03/2008 19:58

brief?

MrsMills · 06/03/2008 19:58

Ah, sorry, should have read whole thread.

Anyway you seriously wouldn't want to be seen in a dress worn on Countdown, would you? (Might help Beety with the pain of not finding one)

Tutter · 06/03/2008 20:04

am testing the water with this

just because it's blue, really

or is blue a red (blue?) herring?

PatsyCline · 06/03/2008 20:15

I think we have abandoned blue, but it is sassy.

I am throwing this into the pot as I love it:

Tutter · 06/03/2008 20:17

ok

at either end of the price spectrum are: this

Tutter · 06/03/2008 20:22

... and this

Tutter · 06/03/2008 20:23

although this is closer to where you started

PatsyCline · 06/03/2008 20:27

That Browns one is so slinky, Tutter! I would worry about nork slippage with the Top Shop number.

The bride may never speak to you again if you go for the Donna Karan one, Beetroot, but I think it's sassy, fab and glam.

Beetroot · 06/03/2008 21:09

i like the last blue one - not sure if I want ot spend 205 quid though.

OP posts:
Beetroot · 06/03/2008 21:10
