Can you help me accessorise this dress?

I have bought this lovely, very dark, green dress for a wedding

I need shoes bag and fascinator to go with it

And probably a wrap or a Bolero or something? It's a winter wedding.

All I can think of is black, but worried I will look too sombre

I was thinking patent black with a bit of bling on it, like a gold chain on the bag or something

Help!

How about hot pink accessories, they're everywhere at the moment thanks to Barbie. If not your style then either silver or gold.

I'd go for gold, personally.

I'd keep the gold slightly champagne-y or bronze-y (not harshly yellow).

This kind of thing for shoes:

And bag:

Then a champagne bolero jacket? I'm not crazy about boleros, personally, so I'd probably go for a light cashmere wrap, again champagne-coloured. I see there are some lovely little sequinned jackets online, so if it's an evening event perhaps that would be an option?

Thank you 😊

I'd not thought about metallic shades

I think that'd work and lift the colour

I wouldn't wear a wrap or jacket or bolero with that. It's a lovely dress that would be ruined by putting a top layer over it.
You'll be inside for the most part where there will be central heating. You could wear a thermal vest if you really feel the cold. For any outside parts, wear a smart coat.

NatashaDancing · 28/07/2023 18:38

If it's a winter wedding I'd just wear a winter coat to get to the church, in the church and then to the reception. Once you're indoors the top layer won't matter.

Do you have a smart wool winter coat? I wouldn't bother trying to get a special top layer.

I agree gold or silver shoes and bag- or red or emerald.

I wouldn't bother with a fascinator. Either dramatic hat or an jewelled Alice band.

fireflyloo · 28/07/2023 18:40

I'd go for either dusky pink, nude or mustard.

I agree. A shawl can be useful for a summer wedding just to put round shoulders if it gets cold in church or when hanging around for photos and can easily be carried/ stuffed in a bag when not needed. For winter, just wear a smart coat and take it off indoors.

Faux fur

Tilllly · 28/07/2023 20:20

That's a good point

It's all in one venue so outside will be brief - that's why I thought of a wrap, just to have if I got a bit chilled

@MayIDestroyYou Yes, you did, it was mine!

@Tilllly I have worn this exact dress to a wedding few weeks ago, with nude courts and a khaki chain bag. Sounds nuts, but it was lovely. I also took pics win other bags, will see if I can link the thread for you.
