Can I get away with wearing a cream dress to a wedding (not mine!) or is that not the done thing to do?

Is it only white you're not supposed to wear? Have SIL's wedding coming up and no time (or inclination) to go shopping for something new.

I would wear it. You could always get a colour/black jacket and accessories so you don't look like the bride.

As ong as you're not wearing a veil and carrying flowers you should be fine

cream suits certainly worn. You'd probably want to accessorise with some colour I'd have thought...
Link? Description?

should be fine, as long as you have colourful accessories. nothing flowery though.

No link I'm afraid since I bought it last year (oops actually year before! I'm a major shopaphobe) Its a cream dress sort of greek style with draping fabric but its not long. Its just below knee length. I think it would look a bit odd with a jacket - which actually means I'm going to be cold for an April wedding. Damn - that means I'm probably going to have to go shopping.

I wore a cream outfit to my best friend's wedding, with a nice colured shawl (it was in October). She was fine with that.

There was no way you will be mistaken for the bride - she will be the centre of attention!

I wouldn't wear cream in April tbh. Esp not without a jacket.

You could get a nice shawl/pashmina/shrug in case it is cool.
