If you have curly hair this is a must have...

I've just found a hairdresser who totally gets curly hair. I'm nearly 40 so this is better late than never!

Anyway, she used on me and recommended I get the Bellissima Diffon Supreme Hairdryer and it is an absolute game changer!

I was always an 'air dry' girl but this has changed my hair overnight, the frizz is gone and my curls are amazing

Just wanted to share for ladies like me who have tried everything under the sun

Only Curls conditioner and hydrating curl cream has been the best thing ever for my curls.

nancy75 · 23/07/2023 21:47

I have to be honest, for £130 I think I’ll just deal with the frizz

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 23/07/2023 21:49

It's just a diffuser. I use one on my hairdryer.

Whereareallthejellyfish · 24/07/2023 06:02

@OneRingToRuleThemAll Ah it's not just a diffuser, it doesn't blow your hair at all, it just gently warms it. In my experience it's the blowing that causes the frizz

I'm 44 and have been an air dry girl all my life! I've long curly hair and I've never owned a hair dryer. Tell me how you use it OP as I'd love to try something new - I feel I need to up my hair styling game as I get older. Peri menopause has meant that I cannot easily rely on my usual products for well behaved curls!

GettingStuffed · 24/07/2023 20:52

I'll stick with air dry,If I use a hair dryer it frizzes up

DryIce · 24/07/2023 21:07

Yes tell us more! How does it work? What do the curls look like after? I am air dry too, but feel I am getting too old (approaching 40) to rely on the shaggy look , would like to look more polished.

It is true I have no skills but I have found all electrical products to make my hair dry and frizzy, and just not any better than air drying

newname642 · 24/07/2023 21:09

Can you post any pics of your hair, OP? I'm willing to be convinced! Smile

AllOfThemWitches · 24/07/2023 22:34

Just quickly hijacking the thread to ask if anyone has hair that is a combination of curls (ringlets) and waves and if so, what the hell do you do with it? I look scruffy.

Same!

234vhh · 24/07/2023 22:36

@AllOfThemWitches same! What do I do? Despair usually.

Titsywoo · 24/07/2023 22:41

Sounds good to me. I airdried all my life until I started using a diffuser properly and my hair is so much fuller and curls defined. Limiting frizz is always good though!

Holdontowhat · 24/07/2023 22:44

I love this too, it gives such defined curls! I really thought it would be just another diffuser which I would be wasting my money on and end up in a drawer somewhere but it has completely changed my hair. I still get frizz and random fly aways at the top so product advice would be appreciated but highly recommend this diffuser

FastAndLast · 24/07/2023 22:44

If I don’t use a cool setting with a diffuser I get frizz, does it have a cool setting 🤔

UndercoverCop · 24/07/2023 22:45

Some of these posts sound suspiciously like this company's Facebook ads

justasoul · 24/07/2023 22:45

What’s the difference between that and a normal diffuser, OP?

Curl hair around a hairbrush or finger for more even curls. Time consuming though.

Product on soaking wet hair can help with frizz.

Can you show us some before or even just after pics OP? Always looking for recs.

justasoul · 24/07/2023 23:26

(PS: I know you said it doesn’t blow air but it looks like a hair dryer on social media…)

SlowlyLosing · 24/07/2023 23:32

Dry it straight (sorry).

I have the Dyson airwrap with the soft brush attatchment, just run it through my hair any old how until dry and always looks acceptable, which is as good as it gets for me.

DeeHaitch · 24/07/2023 23:36

How does it warm your hair? I don't get it

Rovinonmars · 25/07/2023 07:11

Would be interested to see before and after pics. Just looked on Argos and there's a load of recent reviews, all collected as part of a promotion. Seems there's a big marketing push on this drier at the moment...

QuillBill · 25/07/2023 07:19

Gently warms it how?

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 25/07/2023 07:43

I’ve used a diffuser all my life on a warm/slow setting, the same way my hairdresser does. How does this differ?

Whereareallthejellyfish · 25/07/2023 09:06

I can assure you all it's not a marketing post, I've just found it works for me

Will try and get some before and after pics 🙂

It doesn't move your hair when drying it, the warm air comes out of the ends of the black stick things. You tilt your head and put your curls into the diffuser 'cup'.

It does indeed have a cool setting

This thread intrigued me so I did a quick YouTube search and found this interesting video.

I have wavy-curly coarse, low porosity hair so I dunno if this dryer would take a long time to set the gel cast on my type of hair 🤔 However, I like the idea of it reducing frizz because the airstream is very diffused in comparison to typical diffusers.

I currently use a Shark dryer with diffuser and I get medium to good results with the Curlsmith Shine (fragrance free) range and with Jessicurl (fragrance free) products.
