Dress a 32yo for a night out in Dublin

I’ve got a weekend in Dublin booked with a friend in a few weeks. We’re there for 2 nights. I’m so out of touch with what people wear for a night out these days. My friend always looks absolutely stunning when she goes out so I don’t want to feel under/over dressed.

The first night we’re planning on food and cocktails and live music.

The second night we were planning on going to the Temple Bar area.

Any food, pub / club recommendations also welcomed 😊

I am 32yo, 5ft 11, size 8, bit of a saggy tum, very teeny saggy boobs (they’re basically saggy a cup sacks). I have reddish brown hair cut into a shoulder length bob.

I don’t like jumpsuits / play suits. Too much faff going to the loo.

Please help!

Thanks in advance!

Hi! Depends where you're going. May I recommend the Long Hall and the Dawson Lounge as quirky pubs? I love Doheny and Nesbitts too. I would say do some research on pubs and clubs before you go because some of the pubs in Temple Bar are absolute tourist traps. I love the Bank Bar on College Green too. For those pubs: jeans, nice shoes and a nice top! There are also some very fancy places where you might want to dress up a little more. I don't get to go to many fancy places but there are some lovely restaurants around. I love Japanese food so Yamamori on George's Street is nice. If you're feeling flush, wear a nice dress and go for cocktails in the Westbury Hotel or the Merrion Hotel.

You can honestly wear whatever you're comfortable in. I'd normally wear a dress on a night out but you're completely fine to wear jeans and a nice top too. You'll see a big variety of outfits on a night in Dublin. Temple Bar is the biggest rip off so I'd avoid going there but I get that tourists like it.

Ok - be wary of temple bar is noted.
My friend has suggested the dress in the pic with doc marten boots. Completely out of my usual repertoire but I’m unsure. Would love to know your thoughts.

It'll be the top end of dressy but not out of place. If your friend is wearing a similar level dress you wouldn't feel under /over dressed.

Do you like it? If not, why not?

Your dress will be fine, but please don't go to Temple Bar, it's awful. The area around George's St/Drury St/Wicklow St is full of much better restaurants and bars.

The weather is dreadful here at the moment so keep an eye on weather apps, and bring a jacket!

Hope you have a great time
