Does anyone know how to open these Pandora earrings?

I got these new double hoop earrings from Vinted but can only open the hinge on both a few millimetres, definitely not enough space to put onto my ear. Any clues anyone?

They look to me like the hinge is supposed to open upwards but I wouldn't force it. I'd take them into Pandora and get them to do it, so if they break them they can exchange them!

The hinge hasn't been assembled correctly-ask for an exchange! And try the the new pair whilst you're in store.

Any chance that they could be cheap knockoffs?

These earrings are exceedingly hard to open and close. I have the same problem. You have to all but force it shut into the gap. But you can slightly lower the stem, so it fits into the slit a bit easier. And they click shut. It's an awful design, and not just from Pandora. I guess that once they're on, you leave them on! It would help if Pandora designed an implement to open them, a bit like a mini forked tongue, to give it some leveridge.
