Men's shoes in women's sizes (apart from Docs)

I prefer the shape and style of men's shoes. Flats, boots, brogues etc.

What is the smallest men's size usually? I don't have especially small feet (women's size 5) but haven't been able to find men's shoes in my size, which puzzles me because there must be plenty of men with my size feet.

I can't help with the sizing but have you looked at Solovair shoes? I went to the factory shop and tried on a size 5 brogue boot but found it too 'manly' in shape for me, because they use the same last as the men's shoes, juat smaller. If you are anywhere near Northampton I recommend a visit. They also do factory tours, absolutely fascinating.

I think most mens ranges start at a 7 tbh. It’s rare that a man has size 4 ( mens shoes tend to be a size bigger. My 12 yo is an 8 and he’s not an outlier in terms of size. I’d try boys ranges geox does good boys shoes.

Oh Solovair are lovely! Thank you.

Will look at boys shoes.

Mens often start at a 6.5 (eu 40), it would be very unusual for a man to have smaller feet than that, but I guess they would wear boys shoes.

😮Those Joseph Cheaney prices!! Lovely shoes though.

@LucyGru Yeah @EmeraldFox is right - most men’s ranges start at an EU40 (uk 6.5). I work in a higher end footwear store and lots of men ask for smaller sizes and we just can’t get them unfortunately.

If you like the brogue style then try Sioux & Luca Grossi 😊 Gabor also have some lovely chunky lacing styles at the moment.

You might be better looking at the kids/ boys ranges of shoes for a size 5. Maybe not as much choice but you can definitely find some more adult style shoes in older boys ranges.

I'm a 40 and often find I'm a large woman / small men size. The mens shoes seem wider and deeper though so a 40 isn't equal in both sections.

boboshmobo · 22/07/2023 10:46

Try teen boys , next for example

cannaethink · 22/07/2023 11:24

I second Next older boys shoes. I’ve tried them myself as a 41 but found them too manly shaped.
I’m not sure about Lanx for being man shaped. I bought boots (women’s) but found them really narrow and small made. I’d have needed a 43 which were out of stock unfortunately. Maybe the men’s are small made too though, and a 6 might be small enough…

In addition to the places mentioned by @NatashaDancing, you could face a look at

Goodhood Store or

Grenson

which both offer women’s shoes practically indistinguishable from the men’s footwear.

Camper do some pretty unisex shoes - the Peu and Pelotas ranges cover men and women, same styles but tend to be different colourways. The men's shoes start at a 5 and a half (39)

You might need bigger shops for s good range of boys shoes. My local Clarks had mostly velcro in boys sizes. DS is a size 9 but was complaining about how long and pointy the men's shoes were, he had previously had kids unisex brogues but there was nothing suitable in the boys section this time.

Boys shoes ? I need laces and support so I mainly wear boys shoes /boots and they ate not like girls that can be too "girly" they look like small men shoes.

Look at boys shoes

JaninaDuszejko · 22/07/2023 11:48

DH has size 6 feet and struggles to get formal shoes in his size. He lives in trainers, doesn't like boys shoes because they aren't as well made as mens shoes.

everetting · 22/07/2023 11:49

My father had small feet at a size 5. He had to wear boys shoes.
