Wedding attire again shoes and bag for formal look

timefornewme2023 · 21/07/2023 21:59

I have chosen this for a close family wedding in September- and now need help with shoes and a bag.
I would like a heel as I so rarely wear them these days and this is a proper dressing up event!
Any suggestions please?

That is absolutely gorgeous. Do you own a nude heel?

timefornewme2023 · 22/07/2023 22:49

Thank you.
The lack of replies made me nervous that I was too far down the wedding cliche route.
I really don't own anything suitable as I haven't been to any dressing up events for so long.
The last wedding I went to I created a controversial thread on here as wore trainers (smart ones)
I saw some lovely ones in Russell and Bromley and stupidly tried them on but not sure that's necessary really as I won't eat them enough to justify too much money
Curious to know what others would wear as I have a matchy matchy tendency !

This won't be hugely helpful as I don't wear heels higher than the classic LK Bennett kitten heel/ low court shoe.

I would pick almost any of the light colored shoes on here. If you want higher there is a filter for medium or high heels.

Is it an all in one dress with a jacket effect rather than a dress and jacket?

It's very smart.

Re bags, it's cool on here to sneer at Radley but I like them. They're good quality bags which last for ages and, apart from the little dog charm which can be removed if you don't like it, are delightfully free of logos.

These would suit your dress.

I quite like the metallic look. I bought these for Clark’s shoes for a wedding. Are in the sale now so might not have your size so I’ve included a couple of websites. They are surprisingly comfortable as the leather is relatively soft, which is my main criteria. I buy a 6 or 6.5 in a shoe and bought a 7. It is best to size up for comfort with pointy heels, to have the shoe a little on the big side.

Will have a look around see what else I can find online.

Thank you I don't know why I hadn't even thought of LK Bennett they used to be a go to for events !
Seem a few contenders on there .

These are so pretty !
Exactly the sort of thing I would go for.
Same price as the ones I tried before - would like to spend a bit less ideally in case I never go anywhere to wear them again.

It's interesting I hadn't thought I would go for silver but it does work with the dress as per the photo ( I don't look like that in it by the way I am in a bigger size and a lot older !)

The only thing is my DD is in a bridesmaid dress which is cream and gold and the bride is in champagne so I wonder if silver looks a bit stark alongside it.
Possibly over thinking it.

Thanks for these - wouldn't have thought to look at Radley.

It's called a dress but it's a jacket that attaches to the skirt with tittle button hoops.

Hopefully this means I can wear with a simple top in the future as it's a lot of money for it to languish after one wear !

The silver shoes look great with this outfit, but perhaps you would get more wear out of cream/nude.

watersprites · 23/07/2023 13:22

I like the outfit, I would wear a platform heel & probably in a pink & then go for a metallic bag or vice versa but I don't like matchy or sensible court shoes.

CriticalThinkingNeeded · 23/07/2023 13:27

"It's called a dress but it's a jacket that attaches to the skirt with tittle button hoops".

Without my glasses on, I read that as "attaches to the skirt with tittie button hoops".

Which would be next-level upstaging of the bride, OP! 😆

Daffodilwoman · 23/07/2023 13:30

How about bright pink shoes and bag.
