Give me your best waterproof mascaras recs

Hi there,

My eyes are super watery and I can only wear waterproof mascara. Maybelline has always been my favourite for mascaras but after the gaslighting and pandering to the Trans brigade I though it better and I'm going to spend my hard earned cash elsewhere. Unfortunately, most high street brands are on the same boat, so I'm going upwards which is ok atm.

I really liked Clinique High Impact but was a bit disappointed with the waterproof version. Do Lancôme still do fabulous mascaras? What about waterproof ones? TIA

I like the waterproof version of Lancôme’s Monsieur Big.

The eyeko waterproof sport mascara is really good. You can buy a mini version of it too, which is cheaper. I do this as I buy it for beach holidays and I don’t need a regular size just for a few weeks every summer.

I like the waterproof version of Lancôme’s Monsieur Big.

Does it give more volume, length or lift? Or all 3? I find that volumising mascaras are a bit clumpy sometimes

Will have a look at that, thanks. Do you buy straight from their website?

I love eyeko mascaras. I got a mini waterproof sport one in the summer M&S beauty box and really like it- I am saving it for my holiday too! (But because I'm in the uk and predicting rain rather than a glorious beach or pool holiday!)

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 15/07/2023 16:16

I buy it in M&S as then I don’t have to pay for postage

Monsieur Big does it all for me- I have short lashes and it makes them look full. I think if you don’t overload the brush it’s fine.

Mars27 · 15/07/2023 18:09

The Eyeko one sounded good so I went to google it and found out they make two waterproof mascaras, a Beach Waterproof and a Sport Waterproof. I like the Beach brush one better as I'm not a massive fan of the curved brush (I don't mind it but prefer straight brush). 'm sold, will look for the best way to buy it.
Monsieur Big also have a straight brush which is good, but like I said, I'm a little weary of clumpiness. My lashes are long but flat and I'm not really one for volumising but I'm all for lifting. But will try that.

I would love to keep getting recs as I always have a couple of different mascaras on the go.

The Beauty Pie one is excellent, if you curl your lashes, it will set the curl. I'm on my 5th one.

I needed waterproof mascara for work with SEN children as we had a swimming pool at the school. Eyeko Sport was the only waterproof one I found, and I tried them all, even returning Chanel for a refund.

Can you buy Beauty Pie without subscription?

Wow, that's a strong rec, thanks!

In other news I'm clearing all my old makeup and throwing away anything that's not made in the UK, EU or USA. Anything made in China or elsewhere is going in the bin. Thankfully I'm now in a position where I can spend a bit more on makeup and don't need to buy makeup from Poundland anymore (surprisingly good but all made in China) so I decided to be a bit more conscious.

The Eyeko website has got a sale on, 25% off some products, off I go to investigate 👀

@Mars27
There seems to be on the website a free access pass for 30 days, so you can shop at members prices and see if you like it before you subscribe, so you'll get the mascara for £11 instead of £25 (it's very hood but not £25 worth!) without subscription.

Have you tried a tubing mascara? Totally life changing for me - I always had panda eyes. Haven’t looked back since. I use Trish Mcevoy. It’s not waterproof per say- so not sure it would work for swimming but I have really watery eyes and this is amazing

£11 is a lot better than £25! Will have a look, thanks.

Does it clump? Because my eyelashes are not really spaced out (I've got a lot, or at least used to when younger), that's why I'm not a great of volumising ones. But I read about it and I've got to confess I'm a bit curious.

I believe all Eyeko mascaras are tubing

Mars27 · 16/07/2023 22:33

Great, one more reason to test them!

No clumping for me! Never tried Eyeko- thanks for the info- will try that one next
