Tell me about hair extensions that don't damage your hair...

I've got clip ins which I do enjoy on a rare occasion but they're a faff to put in and take out etc.

I'm thinking of getting something a bit more permanent but I'm terrified of damaging my hair further.

My hair doesn't grow, it's just above cleavage length or so. It's quite fine and not in the most fantastic condition but not super terrible either.

Will a more permanent type damage my hair no matter what? Does a damage free type of extension exist?

I'm getting married next year too so definitely need a plan for then!

I’ve had all types of extensions, I found that individual nano rings didn’t damage my hair. I’ve got them in now. Micro rings did and keratin bonds did. LA weave was ok but did pull out some hair around the bond sites.
I have fairly fine textured hair.

If it were me (I was considering extensions) look at what condition your hair is in and how you treat it.

For me it’s been using Redken CAT range and Redken One United leave in conditioner. Also minimal heat on it. Be careful with tying or putting up your hair - it can cause breakage.

After about 1-2 years and with highlights my hairdresser commented on the damage has gone and my hair is in much better condition.

Hi op,

i have great lengths mini bonds. They don’t seem to have damaged my hair. They are very expensive though, last application I paid £850 , but that did include my colour, a treatment and getting it cut etc!

they are so expensive but I love them! Really hope I can continue to afford them as I don’t think I could do without now 🙃

Thanks everyone- I'll have a look into the above.

I do treat my hair as well as I can and minimise putting it up but the ends are just so fragile. Hence the not growing. The top is fine though which is why I don't want to risk any breakage there.

I don't care how expensive they are if they're a style that will look good and keep my hair in good condition so I'll definitely look into those

Thanks!
