First date with a friend, what to wear?

I know I'm overthinking but humour me?

I've know him a long time, he knows my usual casual style and he knows how I look when I dress up.

I'm not sure what level of effort to display 😆 It's a date but it's a very tentative one with space to go back to friends if it's a disaster.

We're going for a pub meal and to the theatre.

I struggle with nice but casual at the best of times 😆

Weather looks warmish with a possibility of rain.

Oh and quite a bit of walking, so needs to work with comfortable shoes

If its theatre you're covered for dressing up (I.e. he won't think it's 'all for him' iyswim!).

No specific suggestions but something that makes you happy to wear!

Are you a jeans or trousers girl?

I'd go with my favourite jeans and a pretty but slightly dressy top. Comfy shoes for walking - on the slightly dressy side (for me, this would be a low heeled ankle boot). Usual amount of make-up but a brighter lip.

Not a jeans girl - then a maxi dress, plimsolls and wrap for if it rains.

If you're smiling and feeling good in your outfit, then you'll look amazing whether it's super dressy or really casual.

Have a fab date!!

Generally jeans and a nice top with boots in winter but too warm for that now. Dress and trainers in summer, but wasn't sure about the trianers for dinner and theatre and I don't do sandals!
