Best colour for dying brown greying hair

I have naturally mid brown hair but with increasing number of very light/white greys. I currently sue my hair a dark copper colour, however the roots grow through very visible with the dark brown AND white.

what colour dye would be better for root regrowth when o have both dark AND light roots growing?

I've just had the same dilemma and had what the lady in the hairdresser called dark blonde but is clearly mid brown, plus some highlights in caramel tones. I was sceptical but it's growing out now and the join is much less noticeable at the roots. By now on my brown box dye I would be getting very twitchy but with this I will wait another couple of weeks for a root touch up (that will be 8 weeks, whereas I was having to do roots after 4 weeks with box dye).

I've had the same problem since my mid 20's to be honest! I've had highlights plus all over dye for around 25yrs and it really helps break up the grey. Stop the all over dye and go to a hairdresser and they will sort it out. You need to go a bit lighter.
These days I have caramel highlights plus a mid brown over the rest and can go maybe 10-12 weeks before the greys poking through are noticeable to anyone other than me. That said I am early 50's now and will have to come up with a plan B in the future- my lovely hairdresser will have suggestions I'm sure.
She is mobile and comes to my house - not an expensive salon- so I pay £70 a time (she charges me £60 but I always tip her) - around 3 times a year- maybe 4 if there is a special occasion.

Ah fab suggestions thanks. I have a hair appointment booked tomorrow for a consultation but had no idea what I wanted or any ideas really.

I agree with pp in saying go lighter. I have blond highlights ( half head) and feel that the gray is less noticeable in terms of the root regrowth since recently doing that as opposed to an all over dye. I still have the darker dyed hair underneath.

Agree with the above. I have very fine highlights on my parting, front, sides and crown. Rest of hair is not dyed.
I have it done 2 or 3 times a year. Keeps a warm tone in my hair. Blends in the grey without hiding it.

I've dyed mine purple 💜 it's gradually fading so the roots aren't too visible soort of an ombré effect

I was just coming on here to confess mine is purple too! It just perks up the brown and is pretty on the greys. Fuchsia pink works similarly but lasts far less time.
