I need an outfit for a funeral :(

I never ever wear dresses and am in a 'casual wear ' job (small children) so don't have anything suitable. The funeral is for a young woman who I have known since she was a baby (so not a 'traditional' all in black affair... it has been requested that we wear blue as it was her favourite colour.

I need to find something reasonably smart but that I will wear again. In blue. I'm thinking trousers and a nice top/blouse, but have no idea where to look.

What's your budget and size OP? And what shade of blue, there's such a spectrum?
I'm very sorry to hear of the death of the young woman. Flowers

Last funeral I went to I wore a dark denim shirt dress and I felt smart enough. People care that you are there, not what you wear, especially for someone young.

I wore jeans and T-shirt to a funeral recently. I'd respect the request to wear blue but other than that wear what you feel comfortable in.

I'm a standard 10, 5 ft 7..and I'm 55. I have no idea if they mean sky blue or navy! Budget.. low (by MN standards !) Maybe up to £80.
I was thinking perhaps a blazer or a nice top but then I'll need trousers.. I have black ones (my usual funeral wear|) but that won't go with blue.

I would go to Next online and sort out trousers and tops using colour and other filters which are relevant to you. Click and collect to the shop is mostly for the next day and then simple return to the shop if not good. It’s my favourite way of shopping atm.

I would go with a top rather than a blazer that you will probably never wear again.

I noticed a nice satin blouse in the just in section for marks which could do along with navy trousers.

This is the one: I have been browsing at M&S and found this: https://www.marksandspencer.com/satin-shirt/p/clp60620332?intid=mobile_app_pdp_share

It looks really nice!

What about navy blue wide leg linen trousers, Next and M&S stock them and they are ideal for warmer weather. Then wear a loose fitting blouse or maybe a fitted shirt in a very pale powder blue or a blue and white pattern - whatever is more your style.

I would be tempted not to spend a lot of money for something you’re going to wear only once. If you already have black trousers, you could add this blazer with a plain top underneath?

They have some pretty good boot cut stretchy trousers in navy at M&S. DD wears them for school - teacher. They are about £25. You could easily wear a loose black top. I think both would get further wear.

I say this suggestion is good
