Like a fool I tried on a pair of beautiful velvet platform shoes yesterday just for fun as I was trying on a dress and thought it would be nice not to be wearing walking boots for that 😀(actually the walking boots looked nice with it 😐 ) and they were so comfortable and felt so not-high that I took more notice and realised too late that they were Chie Mihara 😬 They had the perfect rock on the ball of the foot so they didn't jerk around like dead flat platforms can. Very shallow incline from toe to heel but looked sky high and made me feel six and a half feet tall. Would go with everything in my wardrobe.
They were £150 which is both a silly amount of money and a crazy bargain (in CM world).
Didn't buy the dress or anything else I tried on but the shoes are in my head now. For years I've coveted those Clergerie platforms that Trinny seems to have in every colour and they're miles outside any fictional budget for dressy shoes I don't need.
I wear 40% Birks (a gift to my fallen arches/plantar fasciitis), 40% NB trainers with arch support inserts and 20% other incl Beklina wooden platform clogs and platform sandals from Free People. I don't need them. If I had a wedding invite I'd snap them up.
I came home and scoured the web for a used pair but no dice, the style didn't appear anywhere and I wonder if they were samples as there were some in the sale. This has made me a little crazy in the head.
