Purple dye for greying hair

My hair is naturally very dark brown and I've never dyed it. I now have significant streaks of grey and was wondering if I used a home dye would the grey bits hold the colour to give purple/lilac streaks amongst the brown? Has anyone done this? What dye did you use? Does it look any good?

I used Live cosmic purple, the greys are the same colour as my light/mid brown hair.
I like the colour but it's quite dark, they do a slightly brighter one which I'll do next time

I used Schwarzkopf Live semipermanent in Purple Pink and I followed the instructions to mix a blob of it with some conditioner first to get a more pastel effect. It fades out quite gradually on washing and I had some nice compliments about the colour. I did try the undiluted colour once as well but it's very bright/intense and it also dyed my bathroom purple so I preferred to use it mixed with conditioner

My hair was similar to yours, and I decided to stop colouring it (brown) back in 2019. I'm now about 90% grey I think, but don't know as I've been purpling it since then. Rather than a dye, I use a colour depositing shampoo (I use Celeb Viral, expensive, but a bottle lasts me a long time, and the colours are great). I do this once a week during a normal shower, the longer you leave in, the more vibrant the colour. It clings brilliantly to my lightest greys. I use the dark purple and the magenta colours for some balayage-type effect.

@EmmaStone
Where do you source your Celeb Viral from (assuming you are UK-based)? I can see it as available on Amazon but not sure if it a reliable seller.
Thanks

@TheStarofCountyDown wherever is selling cheapest! Looks like I've previously bought from Labelhair, just my look and eBay.
