What to wear with this skirt?

I have this skirt. I absolutely love it.

Problem is, I've tried countless styles and colours of top to go with it, and can't find anything that looks right to me. The orange polo style top m&s paired it with in store is too long on my body, and tucked in, wasn't right either.

I want to wear this skirt to Wimbledon this week, so I need comfy shoes to go with it too.

Feeling stumped!

I'd wear a good quality black T-shirt with it - straight fitting kind and tucked in.

£75 for a t-shirt @hermioneee Do people actually spend that on a t-shirt? 😳 Thanks for the idea, but one of the first things I tried were loose and tight t-shirts. They don't look good.

@Niftythrifter Bardot tops are where I went today. Picked up several in the shops to try on at home with the skirt later.

Can I ask what size you are and what height - I bought the same skirt in floral - size 12 and 5.4 but struggling to find anything to match with it that doesn't make me look square. Think I should not have bought it unless I was at least 5.8 😂That Bardot top is lovely.

I've a very similar skirt from h&m. I love it. Been wearing it with cropped navy/royal blue batwing jumper (before the melty heat started), a silky v neck navy t-shirt (not fitted, but skims me), and a black cowl neck t shirt with slight cap sleeves.

2 of today's Bardot tops are winners. One plain green, one floral. I prefer the floral, daughter the green. Either way, it's good to have found something that works.

They have an ivory cami that would go with it when you click on the skirt it is linked at the bottom. I would wear a taupe or rose pink cami and a soft jersey style jacket - whistles do a lovely soft jersey slim fit jacket in various colours that would look nice, I'd put a wedge or some neutral suede boots with it depending on the weather.

That's weird - I love that skirt and nearly bought it yesterday but went for the polkadot print one instead (ivory with black polkadots). Great minds😀

I have bought a black satin cami top and black fitted blazer to wear with it to a wedding later in the year. With either black ankle boots or sandals depending on the weather.

Also this is Annabel Croft at Wimbledon. A fitted jacket would be amazing with your skirt too to be more dressed up. The great thing about these skirts is that they can be both casual and quite formal.

I live in skirts like that with a tshirt or boxy jumper. You just need to tuck them in a bit.
