What’s everyone wearing on low-key days?

Just on days where you’re just popping around the shops, or going for a walk? Just on casual days what kind of outfits do people wear?

My figure has completely changed after having a baby, I’m 5’7 and pre baby was a UK8 and pear shaped, now I’m uk12 and hourglass and anything that doesn’t show my waist is very unflattering. So when I throw on a jumper and jeans on casual days it doesn’t suit me anymore, it makes me look a lot bigger than I am. So I’m just trying to get ideas of some easy things I can just not think about and throw on to pop out.

Well, going from an 8 to a 12 isnt extreme. Some similar shapes and cuts will still work for you.
I wear linen tops from Wrap London, sometimes with jeans, shorts or knee skirts.

I love the linen tops at Wrap because the skim the body, not too long or short, and you are able to tuck in or leave out. The shapes are a-line, so hand lovely over the belly.

I like well made causal clothes, so tend to shop at White Co or Wrap.

Wear a belt with the jeans and tuck the jumper/ tshirt in. That will show your waist.

Do you need to change the style of jeans you wear? Styles that suit a pear shape might not suit an hourglass. And maybe a cropped jumper would look good, instead of something longer? It sounds like you already have a ‘look’ that works for you, so maybe it’s a case of finding a differently-shaped version of that look.

I’m also an hourglass who wears jeans and a jumper on casual days, but I have a very long torso so jumpers usually end at my waist or an inch below it. My daughters are shorter than I am and also hourglass, and they wear a lot of cropped tops and jumpers.

I feel your pain on this!
I only wear high waisted bottoms either with a top tucked in or a "cropped top/jumper" Any really baggy or bulky tops, I "french tuck".

Hourglass can mean like 4 different body types, all that suit different lines and fits. pear/hourglass are all quite meaningless.

invest some time in taking some pictures and looking at your kibbe body type. Your kibbe shape shouldn’t change with weight gain either as it’s based on multiple factors like bone structure, features and height. There are Facebook groups that can help.

day to day I wear jeans/shorts/linen trousers with a cropped t shirt or a dress with a feature that accentuates my waist (a drape, a wrap). All jersey/denim casual clothes, but because the fits and necklines are right for me- it just looks smarter.

I wear the same low key clothes at work & the weekend. At the moment I’m really into Maxi/midi denim skirt with t-shirts half tucked in & trainers. I have the ubiquitous Uniqlo sling bags in a few different colours.
